Welcome to the heart of the Supporters community! Here, you’ll discover the profound impact of Supporters’ intervention through the inspiring journeys of the students we serve. Their stories are a testament to the transformative power of personalized support, timely intervention, and unwavering belief in every learner’s potential.

In 2018, Sajed’s academic path took a turn towards Supporters. Despite persistent struggles and private tutoring, the reasons behind his low performance remained elusive. His school, unaware of the deeper issues, inadvertently added pressure instead of investigating the root of his learning setbacks.

Referred to Supporters’ Support+ Program, Sajed encountered, for the first time, a structured and individualized educational plan delivered through dedicated one-on-one tutoring. However, our team soon recognized that academic support alone was insufficient.

Through careful monitoring, we identified multi-faceted cognitive challenges and actively involved Sajed’s family. We offered parental coaching and awareness sessions, empowering them to understand his situation and the necessary support strategies. With their trust and collaboration, a significant shift began.

By Grade 8, a comprehensive screening and diagnosis process unveiled Sajed’s specific learning difficulties. This enabled us to precisely tailor our interventions. A crucial decision, made in partnership with his family, was to transition Sajed to a more supportive school environment – one that embraced understanding, adaptability, and appropriate accommodations.

From that point, Sajed’s potential began to flourish.

With Supporters’ continued dedicated follow-up, close coordination with his new school, personalized academic interventions, and aligned learning accommodations, Sajed’s academic performance soared, accompanied by a newfound confidence.

Today, Sajed is passionately pursuing his university studies, his future brimming with possibilities. His journey with Supporters exemplifies the transformative power of personalized support, timely intervention, and unwavering belief in every learner’s untapped potential.

When Wassim first connected with Supporters, he had reached a critical juncture. Years of dedicated effort, including intensive daily tutoring and a staggering 20 hours of private tuition weekly, had yielded alarmingly low academic results. Instead of progress, his motivation and self-assurance were steadily declining.

During his initial consultation with our team, we delved deeper, formulating a hypothesis that transcended perceived effort or ability: Wassim’s academic struggles appeared to stem from the unseen weight of anxiety.

Based on this understanding, we made a significant shift: we discontinued the extensive 20 hours of weekly private tutoring and introduced a carefully tailored academic plan comprising just 4 hours per week with Supporters’ experienced educators. This wasn’t merely a reduction in time; it was a strategic recalibration towards the right kind of support.

Working collaboratively with our educational management team and therapists, we established a comprehensive multisectoral support system specifically designed for Wassim. Simultaneously, our outreach team forged a strong partnership with his school, ensuring consistent support across both his home and classroom environments.

The impact was remarkable. Wassim’s academic performance surged dramatically, leaping from scores around 20% to an impressive average of nearly 70% upon completing Grade 12. Today, Wassim proudly attends the American University of Beirut, excelling academically and confidently shaping his future.

At Supporters, we are deeply honored to have accompanied Wassim throughout his secondary education, and his transformation continues to inspire us. His journey powerfully illustrates the profound outcomes achievable when education, mental well-being, and meaningful collaboration converge.

Six-year-old Ali in Beirut faced emotional and social challenges after his parents’ divorce and the COVID-19 lockdown. Upon school enrollment in Beirut, he struggled with severe behavioral issues, leading to expulsion. His mother in Beirut faced isolation and lack of support.

Referred to Supporters in Beirut in early 2024, Ali underwent a comprehensive assessment. He was then enrolled in a partner school through our Inclusion Builders program in Beirut, designed for inclusive learning.

Initially, behavioral challenges continued in his new Beirut school. However, a dedicated multidisciplinary team in Beirut, including special educators, therapists, and behavior specialists, developed a tailored intervention plan. Simultaneously, his mother in Beirut received parental coaching.

Today in Beirut, Ali is thriving, engaging cooperatively and showing his bright personality. His academic engagement and emotional stability have significantly improved.

Abdallah’s journey, which brought him from Iraq to Beirut, is a powerful narrative of resilience and unexpected triumph over years of academic frustration. Despite repeated failures in Grade 9 and Grade 12 in Iraq, and extensive support from reputable private tutors, the reasons behind his struggles remained an enigma.

Seeking solutions in Beirut, his family, with dwindling hope, turned to Supporters, known for their individualized educational approaches for unique learning challenges in Beirut.

In our initial meeting in Beirut, Abdallah, a calm and soft-spoken young man, posed a poignant question: “Do you have any answers? Why am I like this?”

Our thorough screening process in Beirut revealed indicators of ADHD – Inattentive Type. This hypothesis initially shocked his parents, who struggled to reconcile it with his quiet demeanor.

Through our Parental Coaching Program in Beirut, we elucidated that ADHD doesn’t always manifest as hyperactivity, explaining how the inattentive type can often be overlooked, particularly in quiet individuals like Abdallah. With understanding and trust, his parents embraced a comprehensive intervention plan in Beirut.

Following a medical confirmation of the diagnosis in Beirut, we implemented our Support+ Program – a fully personalized intervention pathway. Our specialized teachers in Beirut adapted the Iraqi curriculum to Abdallah’s learning profile, meticulously preparing him for his official exams back in Iraq.

The outcome was transformative: Abdallah passed his official exams. The seemingly impossible became reality in Beirut. His family, our team in Beirut, and his medical doctor celebrated this profound success.

Respecting his family’s privacy in Beirut, we do not share his image. However, Abdallah’s story, unfolding in Beirut, stands as a powerful testament to the impact of accurate diagnosis, personalized support, and a dedicated team.

Abdallah’s experience in Beirut is more than a personal victory; it underscores that with the right understanding and tailored solutions, transformation is always within reach. At Supporters in Beirut, we are driven by belief, diligent investigation, and the commitment to build solutions that change lives.
